The short version

Your days, your locations, your photos and the documents you attach stay on your iPhone. We have no accounts, we run no servers that hold your data, and we cannot see your record.

What the app uses, and where it goes

• Location. Used on your iPhone to work out which country (and, in the US, which state) you are in each day. Positions are not sent anywhere. If you allow "Always", iOS wakes the app in the background for this.
• Photos. If you choose to rebuild past trips from photos, the app reads the date, time and place stored in photos taken with your own camera. Images are never copied, uploaded or shared.
• Documents and photos you attach as evidence. The app stores a fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash) of each file, its kind and, for a document, its file name in your day log. The file stays wherever you keep it.
• Imported files (Google Timeline, Flighty, calendar, spreadsheet) are read on your iPhone and not kept.
• Your day log is saved in the app's private storage on your iPhone and included in your iPhone's own backup.

The only things that leave your iPhone

• Time-stamps. Once a day the app sends a 64-character fingerprint of your day log to a public time-stamp service (DigiCert, or FreeTSA as a fallback), which returns a signed time. The fingerprint says nothing about where you were and cannot be turned back into your record.
• App Attest. When you take a daily stamp, your iPhone asks Apple to confirm the app is genuine. Apple's service handles this; no location or personal data is included.
• Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details.

This website

• We don't use cookies, analytics or advertising on reztally.com.
• The free calculators work in your browser. What you type into them stays in your browser's own storage on your device so you can come back to it; it is never sent to us. Clear it with the calculator's Clear all button or your browser's settings.
• The day log checker at reztally.com/verify reads the file you choose in your browser. The file is not uploaded.
• The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes the technical details of each request, such as your IP address, to deliver and protect the site. We don't use them to identify you.

What we do not do

No analytics, no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing of data, no account or sign-in.

Your choices

You can turn off location or photo access in iOS Settings at any time. Deleting the app deletes your day log from the iPhone; it remains in any iPhone backup you have made and in any file you have exported. You can export your day log at any time.

Your rights

Because we don't hold your day log, we can't access, correct or delete it for you: it is on your device, under your control. If you email us, we use your email only to reply and keep it no longer than we need to. You can ask us to delete our correspondence with you.

Children

RezTally is not directed at children.
